Today we woke up at 5:30am to catch our flight to Phuket. As we arrived in Phuket we were swamped by peoples asking if we wanted a taxi. We eventually found a taxi and headed for the Courtyard by Marriott.

It was boiling hot in Phuket and upon our arrival at the hotel they gave us a nice cold drink (lemon ice tea) and we checked into out room. After going for a swim we had some lunch at the hotel then headed for Patong Beach (a busy shopping/ eating entertainment area.

There were numerous hawkers in the area all selling there wares. And much like all Asian cities the very friendly tailored suit salesmen (all Indian - "hello my good friend"). We took a bit of a walk around soon discovering the many "massage" businesses around. In the end it started sounding like cats moaning at eachother "masssssaaaage?". We found a shop were they do those treatments where the fish eat he dead skin off your legs and feet. After a bit of consideration we decided to give it a try. Can't say it was the most comfortable experience but it was an experience at that. You just have to try not look at the fish all over your feet!

Later we carried on walking and while we were inside it had started to rain so everything was wet but the temperature seemed to have gotten hotter (like a big sauna). We then took a walk on the beach and had some ice cream.

After a quick stroll around we went to buy some groceries at the 7 eleven and went back home to watch the second half of Shawshank Redemption.
