We finally set off around the world and were happy that the journey to the airport was drama free (apart from some tears from mum)!. however, we were not so happy as we then found out we were delayed by an hour! Despite the delays we made the time up in the air and arrived in Bangkok ready to face the challenges ahead.
We learnt our frst lesson about tuk tuk men as we were given the run around so he could get some free petrol. It only cost us about 30p so we cant complain. Arrived at our hotel about 6pm and were upgraded (in the loosest sense of the word possible) to a three bed deluxe. We wandered the local stalls and shops and have seen were we can get a thai massage for £2 an hour! went for a lovely indian for about £3 each (and as your all aware, thats even cheap for thailand when dining with antonio!)
The next day we were told it was a religous day which meant free entry to all temples (so of course we took advantage). we went to the lucky buddha and a few others, all of which were amazing. after a few hours we got caught in a massive downpour which lasted for hours and flooded the roads. Whilst meeting some lovely locals we also realised that Bangkok can be a very hassling experience due to everybody wanting to sell something. We decided not to visit the Grand Palace as we will be coming back to Bangkok in December to see this and the floating markets.
