Today we went to The Peak which is the highest point in Hong Kong and has some of the best views. After a very steep tram ride up to the peak we found a shopping mall at the top where we could seek refuge from the 31c and high humidity! We had lunch at Bubba Gump where the menu was fairly Western but the taste did not quiet live up to expectations, although a knife and fork was an exciting treat.
After lunch we went up to the Sky deck to see the amazing views over Hong Kong, and learn about some of the buildings and views via audio guide. We then got the tram back down and walked back to the station via the famous HSBC building. A building on stilts so you can walk underneth and look up to see inside through a floor made of glass.
Being in this touristy area surrounded by other westerners made us realise that our hotel in Mong Kok was not as popular with the west. Walking around the local area had caused Ant and I to whisper to each other 'Westerner' on the rare occasion we saw any, however this did make us feel some what like celebrities as we walked around Mong Kok!
On our return to the hotel we went to the Gold fish market, which was a street full of pet shops. We thought this would be a cool place to see, however the more we saw the more we disliked. 90 types of fish bagged up in water and hanging on a wall waiting to be purchased, and that was just 1 wall of 1 shop!! We also saw some lovely kittens and puppies but had to leave swiftly before we purchased all 11 of them in order to rescue them from their hot stuffy cages!
Back at the hotel we are now all packed and ready to move on to Guilin tomorrow.

Deborah Clements Pleased to hear that you didn't surcomb to the temptation to rescue the poor animal. Customs wouldn't have been happy! The Peak sounds a very picturesque way to see Hong Kong. The HSBC building sounds very original. Have a good flight to China. x
