Day 105 - Got up early to catch the Kiwi bus up to Kaikoura. Met our new bus Smiley, who funny enough was always smiling and headed off. About an hour down the road we got to a road which was completely flooded so no way through. So I though that we would just go a back way through...but no....they don't have back routes in New Zealand. One main road and that is it apparently! So Smily decided that we would drive to Nelson instead, which instead of 4 odd hours to Kaikoura it would take 12 hours to get to Nelson!! I felt sorry for him because he had to drive...we got to just sit there. If we hadn't of done the detour then we wouldn't of been able to get onto the North Island on time so was all good in the end. Arrived at the Hostel in Nelson for the second time (as we had already visited it on our 1st time round the South), grabbed a $12 roast (which has nothing on my nans) and a few drinks. Met a French Canadian girl who was staying in our room and was an absolute pain in the arse! I thought she was lying when I asked her where she was from and she said Canada with a French accent! Anyway spent the night listening to her moan until she finally went to sleep...snoring!
