Day 12 - Arriving Kuala Lumpur
After a good nights sleep (hehe) we headed in to KL city centre in search for somewhere to stay. It was only 7:30am so nowhere was open and it wasn't very busy. We found an open Chinese cafe and had duck for breakfast! SO CHEAP!!! For the both of us and we had a meal each plus a couple of drinks, it came to 20rigits which is about GBP3.00!! And the portion sizes were massive! So that was a nice start to the day!
We headed off to find a place to stay. My bag weighed a ton so Anth (my hero) carried mine and his for me (I think he did it beacuse he couldn't bear me moaning anymore and having to stop every 5 minutes!). We found a perfect little hostel after about 20 minutes called the Travellers Palm Lodge. It was 70rigits per room which is about GBP6.00, grea, we love this place already!
It was a double room with shared bathroom, yet again clean so Kay didn't mind sharing (no socks in the shower again!).
There were a few other backapackers in the hostel so we were chatting to them for a bit seeing where they had been, where they're going, etc. Then headed into KL city centre again to have a ook around. Oh my god the shopping centre is amazing! The clothes and shoes - TO DIE FOR! If I hadn't of had the willpower to walk out of there I would have easily spent all of my savings on a few new wardrobes (ha only joking, Anthony literally had to pull me out of there by my ears, I was like a kid in a sweet shop!).
We had quite an early night, we had originally gone to have a few drinks but people to not drink alcohol in KL (I know, whaaaat??) so to have a drink it would have cost us a fortune again so we didn't bother.
Day 13 - Leaving Kuala Lumpur
As much as we love KL we decided to leave, WE JUST WANT THE BEACH!! We are getting pretty sick of cities and just want to chill out! Thailand is our next stop without a shadow of a doubt!
Our train left KL at 8pm so we had a day to do things. We wanted a cheap day so decided to head to KL National Park. It's mad right in the centre of the city, there is this huge park, you wouldn't have even believed that you were in a city at all. It was really, really pituresque.
The sun was shining and it was really peaceful just to walk around and see all of the different plants and things.
There was a huge lake in the middle of the park and we hired a canoe for 30 minutes.
Of course Anthony's manliness' came through as soon as we were on the boat, "Kay, I'm Captain, you're second in command." So that meant that Anth had to sit at the front of the canoe and steer, me at the back. He had to count in when we used our oars, I wasn't allowed to count. Oh and he had to say 'oars up' I wasn't allowed, if I did I was reminded that he's Captain and only the Captain says 'oars up' hahaha.
What he didn't realise was that on a canoe the person at the back of the canoe steers the boat not the front, the front person merely helps pull the boat along haha, the boat ride finished not long after that.....
After that we just walked around the park. We bought some Sour Cream & Onion Pringles that actually turned out to be Prawn Cocktail...
The scenery in the park was beautiful, lilly pads, bamboo trees, herb gardens and water fountains all in all a very nice day.
We headed to the train station after that and booked BEDS for our 11 hour journey ahead of us.
We are heading to Ko Phi Phi tomorrow for sun, sea and sand, BRING IT ON!!!!
