Well it has been a while since I, Anouk, wrote an entry, and people are noticing. It is not my fault that Rod and Pippa leave me to 'guard' the house while they gallivant around the countryside. Though I mustn't complain, they do take me to the park 2 or 3 times a day. But on this day they took me to a National Trust park which is a bit special.
Morden Hall Park required me to sit in the back seat of the car for about 30 mins. This is a huge length of time for a dog. But I stuck my head cutely on the console between the seats and felt the love.
Sorry got distra..........SQUIRREL!!!!.......cted. So at Morden we bi-passed the nursery and when straight for the back of the park. Here I was allowed to run free and meet a few other dogs. We ran and walked for about an hour, stopping occasionally for Rod and Pippa to take photos. A weird obsession, they just don't have the memory for places I have. Perhaps they should leave more reminders like I do. Also I discovered that stinging nettles don't bother dogs so I was allowed off the path and to go bouncing through the woods.
Next, we............SQUIRREL!!!!.........sorry....had a picnic by the stream that lead away from the Mill. The mill use to be for snuff pressing and the mill stones where apparently too heavy to throw (2 tonnes), but neither Rod or Pippa even tried, which I found disappointing.
After lunch we went around the other side of the park. More running and chasing crows for me. They stayed on the tree lined path again but I went springing through the ............SQUIRREL!!!!!... sorry I am a dog so easily distracted, where was I, yeah springing through the meadow chasing crows.
From here we, well they, got ice-creams and sat in the Rose garden where I had to be on a lead. Discrimination against the furry as all the other little 2 legged pets from other families were allowed to run round and jump in the creek.
Anyway, this weekend we are having a House Warming so I am sure I will get lots of attention and not be distracted by the squirrels.
