First full day in Quebec. The city is relatively small, so people seem more friendly than Montreal. I joined a guided tour of the city this morning. It was founded in the 16th century. Much of the historical buildings are from the 1800's. There is a lower and upper part to the city and it has walled fortifications, the only city in Canada. Bonjour! I'm now in Quebec for a few days. The moose travel bus dropped me off a few hours ago. The bus load comprised of 3 austrialians, 3 dutch, 3 german and a mad frenchman who is the bus driver/tour guide. I'm returning to Tadoussac because there is a music festival of blues and jazz. This is my second day in Montreal. Thank-fully I met a Brazilian girl from Rio. She is lawyer from a big newspaer and is good company. She attended an english course. We went to the old part of Montreal today and visited the latin quarter (again). Old Montreal has 17th century buildings. the 'Nortre Dame' church was very impressive, beautiful statues and ornate windows.
