Got up 12 again!!! To late to sun bath! So yet again I'm still the pastiest person in Thai!!!
Met John and sven at a chinese restaurant at 1 and had dimsum for the first time! I had 3 prawns wrapped in different stuff and was full. Get full so easily here and am never hungry it's weird.
Went to the book shop I've wanted to I to for a while (on the road books) and bought 'lonely planet south east Asia' for 300 baht (£6) it's retail price is £16 so once again Thai is cheap as chips! May never leave (don't worry mum back next week ;) )
While we were in the book shop a Thai parade went by! It was so beautiful! So many colours! I've taken pictures of lots of the different sections but it was so long! Children in uniforms, colourful ladys with paper umbrellas, bands, dancers etc including in the middle of it a huge golden boat looking thing! There were to your boys on the top of it and Thai people threw water over them!
We asked the lady in the bookshop and she said it was a Buddhist parade and throwing water were giving a gift to the gods and the parade was to celebrate there ancestors! I think? .......
Got back to nice place guest house about 3 and asked the lady about checking out! She said we had to do it before 11? OOPS!!! She didn't look happy but we should the tour operator told her!
Rammed all out stuff in our rucksacks (Michael's is already splitting!!) and checked out by half past!
Went to get a tuktuk to the train station at half 4, we were told it would take half an hour to get there so we told him we were in a rush! He went all out and just drove on the pavements instead so padestrians had to move! Felt like royalty! 'get out of my way'
Ended up getting to the station an hour early! Saw a sign for 'hot ice' and decided we this was our kind of place! So had a drink then boarded the night train to bangkok!
This train was different, no hanging outside the train pretending to fly! It had aircon as well, which at first we loved but after 5 minutes I was shivering and looking for the off switch, which it didn't have!!!!! Kill me!
We ordered dinner on the train cos those 3 prawns at lunch had digested! Ha anyway the only vegetarian option was spicy soup with rice, it came and was floating cabbage in water with a bowl of plain rice. It's such a shame that I was to full for the cabbage water! Hah ;)
In the middle of dinner I saw a Beatle bug crawl behind Michael, we both flapped and Michael grabbed a tissue and killed it! Whilst doing this I looked over to the Thai couple that were opposite us and they looked horrified! I then realised that 'all life is sacred' being a buddhist and what goes around comes around! Oh great! A dinosaur size Beatle will eat us in the night then! Bring it on!! ;)
