Anne&Martin NZ trip
We travelled down from Lake Taupo across some fantastic mountain scenery even though it was cloudy with rain/drizzle but as we dropped down into Hawkes Bay we were in sunshine but the bay was covered in cloud. Very fertile area and the sun came out as we walked around the Art Deco streets. The B&B up on Bluff Hill was brilliant a 2 bedroom cottage with views over the bay.
Did a walking tour of the Art Deco buildings and learnt about how the forward senior townfolk decided on rebuilding it in the modern style after the earthquake of 1931 destroyed it.
We did have an excellent trip to Cape Kidnappers and the only mainland gannet colony where we stood only feet from hundreds of parents with their young.
