Nha Trang
At first we were hesitant about going to Nha Trang as most people we spoke to said how it's just full of Russians as they have a direct flight to there. We arrived and yes Russians everywhere but it didn't bother us at all. We met up with the friends we made in Cambodia and the first night we went out to the sports bars to watch the football. After the football finished we headed down to the beach front where thousands of Vietnamese and Chinese were sat drinking and eating ready for the big fireworks display at 12am. We welcomed in the new year with some locals who were feeding us rice wine! The fireworks display was unreal.
After that we carried on the celebration and went out and got in around half 4!
The next morning we felt rough and wanted to do something. The group we met said that there is a remote island that has been bought and transformed into a theme park. Anne Marie asked if they wanted to come with us. We all met for breakfast and went down to the cable carts. The cable cart took was over the sea for 20 minutes until we landed on the island.
First up it was the water park. Spent the day in there testing out all the slides. There was 7 of us in the group, we got to the top of the slide carrying out huge inflatable boat thing and only 6 were allowed in at one time. The man at the top said no 7, only 6. We said come on mate were all small and you're a nice person. He said ok ok don't fall out - imagine that happening in England! We wasn't worried about falling out the boat but falling off the slide. We went so high! After the water park it was the aquarium and then watched a seal show. We went up to get food and then the queue to get back to the mainland on the cable cart was ridiculous. But it was open until 9 so we went up to the rides and the games arcade which was free. Jake was in his element trying out all the free car games and the basketball game. Anne Marie got a bigger score and Jake didn't leave until he beat her!! Then it was onto the tobogganing. We queued for 45 minutes but it was so good. All lit up, it took 4 minutes to get up. Anne Marie went with foster because Jake wanted to go fast and knew that Anne Marie would tell him to slow down. Foster went fast but Anne Marie couldn't tell him off! We got half way down and had to slam on our breaks because a Chinese lady was too scared and went down the rest two miles per hour. John then stopped in the middle of the run and said he's not going anymore at this speed. We had a huge tailback before he let his breaks off again to go.
We caught the cable cart back at 8:40, met for a beer and then went home again. In the morning we had to wait until 7 for our bus to hoi an. So we just chilled in a bar, playing cards and killer pool. The boys from Alderney - Foster, Ross and John said they would teach us a card game. It was stop the bus! Me and Anne Marie got to the final both with 3 lives each so all that practice at New Years and gran teaching Anne Marie paid off! We then had the best Italian because the boys were getting split up as Forster was going to Canada.
