Left the hotel at 7.00am in 2 vehicles to drive 2 hours to Belize city. We had all chosen to pay an extra $5 to take this mode of transport rather than public bus which would have taken longer. After reaching Belize city with seconds to spare we got onto the water taxi which took us to Caye Caulker.
After checking in at the hotel, the rest of the day was free. I spent the remainder of the day exploring with Sheila, stopping by The Budgetman for lunch consisting of curried shrimps with rice and plantain, eating it while watching the world pass by and the sea lapping on the shore. We then went to the hotel, where thank god, my luggage was waiting for me, having made a round trip to San Pedro. We then went down to the split to try their local drink at the Lizard bar, called the Leaping Lizard!!! Everyone met at The Split at 7.00pm having watched the sunset, before heading out to dinner at Wish Willies ($30 for all you could eat at and as much run punch as you could drink).
