Anna's travels......
Saturday:
Arrived in San Pedro today at 11.30am. It is so nice and hot here. It is such a nice change as the last 4 days I have been freezing on the Uyuni Salt Flat tour. Great tour though.
Really small cute little town. Already I love Chile. The people are nice (and rather trendy looking, guys like the long hair look), weather good, nice food and wine. Every little thing is so much better than Bolivia. Yippee. Need I say I will not be rushing back to Bolivia.
Had a nice meal tonight in this bar. Half of it was covered, but the middle part of the restuarant was opened air. In the middle was an open fire. Great setting. Later in the evening they had this women dancing round the fire, she was throwing fire sticks up in the air. She was really good. I was just telling Alan how good she was when she DROPPED one of the sticks!!! Landing just by my foot. Oh god, nearly had heart attack. I really didn`t want to be burnt alive. I kept my mouth suck after that. And moved chairs, just in case!!
Sunday:
Got up today, made a pack lunch and then hired some bikes. The weather is beautiful. Rode 17km to the Moon Valley. It was great riding through the desert, the roads in chile are really good, not too bumpy, so didn`t get saddle arse! Mountains surrounds the areas, great views. It is really strange seeing mountains about with snow on, when we are standing in the hot desert. Rode back to town and then out another 3km to an oasis where we had a swim and sun bath. After relaxing really didn`t feel like riding back to town, but managed it.
Monday:
Nightmare, no cash machines in town, and not enough cash to pay hostel. Whoops!! I did offer to clean for them but no joy. So Alan and I had to get a bus to the next town. One and a half hours away! Lucky we have enough for the bus fare. Fun hey. Getting bus to Santiago tonight.
