Houston, we have coffee
There are lots of Island hopping trips, an underground river and some other bits to do in PP. We realised we've not really had much time relaxing (me flapping around like a de-finned fish in Malapascua certainly wasn't!) and also the trips are quite pricey so we had a bit of time not doing too much.
We grabbed another tricycle ride into the main part of the city. Things do seem to be more organised and a bit more robust on this island, probably for tourists and also we found out the previous night that they don't really get any typhoons, earthquakes or much else in the city so they probably don't go through the same build/rebuild routine of other parts of the Philippines. This tricycle ride for 5 mins was about £0.30. It makes me think, would the government back home allow me to attach a motorbike to a metal cage to ferry people around town?
For lunch we stumbled across a speciality coffee shop, and had my first real ice coffee of the trip. Hurrah! Also some Pancit (noodles) to eat, which was good apart from the odd looking and tasting reformed "meat".
That evening we went to a popular restaurant Ka Lui, which you enter in your bare feet. It's all on very nice wooden and varnished decking. The food was a big relief, and was easily the best of the trip; Some kind of fish chowder (soup), some bbq fish, vegetables and shrimp, tiger shrimp, and some "fish roll" that was white fish wrapped around a piece of sugar cane and some green leaf in coconut sauce. Afters was some fruit and I had a ginger and calamansi (small limes) with crushed ice to drink.
