Tin Tin Deo
Another day of doing b***** all, but this time for a good reason, we needed to save our money so we could go out tonight to a salsa club we'd heard was good and actually had people dancing in it! We got chatting with some of the other guests, 2 girls who were a little bit mad and a guy from Australia who were travelling together at present and when we said where we were going that night they asked if they could join us. We were happy for them to come as its nice to have some company occasionally and also meant we could all share a taxi making things a little cheaper. None of them danced salsa however so that afternoon we gave them a crash course so they would be able to get up and dance a little that night. The Australian guy, Sam, dances Lindy-hop so he picked it up pretty quickly already being used to learning steps and leading people. The girls had fun too and got the basics so when it was time to go we were all quite excited to see what it would be like. We arrived at Tin Tin Deo at about 11 and the club, spilt into 2 sides by the bar was already full of people dancing salsa, the music was pretty good and after finding a table and getting drinks sorted, me and Andy got up for a dance. It was quite a fast one but was so much fun although as is normal everyone was watching us again, they mainly dance cuban style here so our fast spins and styling is unusual to them. We danced with the others too when a slow song came on so they could practice and also danced with several other people in the club and agreed it was nice to be able to dance with people who can lead and follow instead of drag you around the floor! The guys went home before us, we were having too much fun to leave early and danced the night away until the music started to get monotonous with several repeats of earlier songs, only then did we leave to get a taxi back. Being a bit peckish after our exersions we bought a triangular potato pastry thing each from a little stand which turned out to be really tasty before heading into the hostel and to bed.
