We left Cat Ba Island on the 12.20 ferry, paying over double what we should. The worst thing was I knew we were getting ripped off! The ferry arrived in Haiphong city over 3 hours later, grabbed something to eat beforte catching a minibus for the 2 and a half hour drive back to Hanoi. We arrived in Hanoi but unsure where, our taxi driver claimed we were 30 km away and asked for $100, we settled at $15 believing we had a bargain, but arrived at our hotel 10 minutes later!! For supper we went to the now familiar Kangaroo Cafe before heading back to the hotel where Jon and I shared a bed a little bigger than a single!

The following morning after limited sleep we dropped our bags at the Kangaroo Cafe for the tour later that evening and went to the internet cafe next door. This is where the drama began, I tried to upload some photos but a virus deleted them all from my card. From there I went all over Hanoi trying to communicate to try and sort the prtoblem...no luck! Whilst searching I was stared at( I think everyone thought I was American) and grappled by some deranged man wanting me to get on his motorbike before walking into a middle of a fight!! I was absolutely fine but any suggestions on how to retrieve my photos would be most welcome. At about 9.30 we found ourselves in a cramped, noisy 4 berth cabin on a overnight train to Sapa, where we spent the next 9 and a half hours!!
