We spent 5 hours in Singapore Airport very early morning. It was very clean and very state of the art a complete contrast to Delhi. Flying from Singapore to Hanoi took 3 and a half hours, we finally arrived at 2.30 local time. Jon and I went in search of a the Real Kangaroo cafe but got hopelessly lost, not knowing where our hotel was or even its name. We finally traced our steps, found the hotel and were soon on our way for food, we found the Real Kangaroo Cafe at last and I ate a local dish of rice and green beans, alot nicer than it sounds, before having a few beers in the Funky Monkey!
After breakfast we swapped rooms from 2 to 1 massive one with 2 double beds. We sorted ourselves out and headed to the Old Quarter by the lake. In the market we were made to pose for photos with baskets and then the women demanded money, when i refused one of them hit me with her basket, all th contents of her basket fell on the floor, so the joke was really on her. In the market I got my ear pierced (sorry mum) but the pain has put me off another one! Walking round the lake was followed by lunch in a idyllic restaurant by the lake. Later that evening after alot of internet usage (because the system kept crasing) we went to 'Stop' restaurant for my first burger of the trip.
