Off to Exmouth we go!!
We had heard Exmouth was beautiful but we really didn't know what was there...except for swimming with the Whale sharks, which we missed anyway due to the time of year!
We stayed at a great c.van park, right across from the bathrooms and in the dog part so that we didn't have to worry if Charli barked a bit!
Our first day there it wasn't that nice...I even wore a cardigan! So we took the dog and went for a drive to check out Exmouth! We saw the SS Mildura that sank write near the beach, the lighthouse that was build as a result of the sinking of the SS Mildura and a few beaches where turtles are just beginning to come ashore to lay their eggs.
The next day was much nicer so it was time to snorkel! We popped Charli into a boarding kennel for the day as we needed to go into the National Park to go snorkeling. The first beach we visited was called 'Turquoise Beach' for obvious reasons. The water was crystal clear and the most beautiful colour blue! We snorkelled for a little while as the water was quite cold and really rough. You had to get out of the water at a certain place otherwise you would be swept out to sea! Eek! There were so many fish in a million different colours! It was great as it was quite shallow so you didn't have to duck down to get a closer look!
The next beach was was called 'Oyster Stacks' and although it was only 5 mins up the road, the reed was completely different. There wasn't a beach to go into the water from, but rocks. It was really shallow here, so you could only snorkel when the water was at a certain height. Again, the fish were amazing! The coral was nice too, but it wasn't as colourful as the coral in the Whitsundays.
We then visited 'Sandy Bay' which was just stunning! We sat under the umbrella and had a little swim to cool off. What a beautiful day in a gorgeous place!
We had a fab time in Exmouth, a cute little town with lots to do and see!! We especially liked the prawns we had for dinner one night and the turtle magnet we got for our collection!
