Le village de Bories near to Gordes. These dry stone huts date back to the 14th century and were occupied up until early 19th century. They are very primitive, hard to believe the Bories living here in prehistoric conditions and not 50km away the royals were in luxury in their castles, and had been for several centuries.

Notre Dame de Senanque Abbey near to Gordes. This dates back to 1148, still in use and occupied by monks. It is a beautiful building in a valley about 5km from Gordes, freezing cold inside and quite dark, hard to imagine living in there for a week let alone a lifetime.
