Our last stop in New Zealand! We cannot believe how quickly the last 6 weeks have flown by, we have loved every minute even the rain!
The first thing we had to do here was hand in the camper van which was a very sad moment! It has been our first home together and we were very attached to it! In total over the last few weeks we have driven 6946km all around NZ in that van and listened to 3362 tracks on the ipod shuffle and spent 38 nights on the foam mattresses!
Christchurch is a very English city, it looks very much like Stratford upon Avon, with its very own River Avon running though the middle, you can even go for a punt on the river! There were also some lovely Botanical Gardens and the main Cathedral Square with lots of beautiful buildings.
We spent the weekend wandering around Christchurch in the sun, enjoying the sights, having lunch in a nice bar by the river and then we found an Oktoberfest in full swing so had several more beverages there!
We also found on Saturday night a really grungy pub which was showing a Pink Floyd tribute act called 'A Trick of the Light', they were excellent. Andrew loved it being a big Pink Floyd fan and they certainly impressed me, live music when it is good is always a great night out!
Finally we left Christchurch after watching England v South Africa, although we were disappointed we are still proud of the boys - who would have thought it!
We now have to catch a 5 hour bus to Picton to get the ferry back across to Wellington for our flight to Melbourne and onto OZ!
Lots of Love
Sarah and Andrew xxx
