What could be more wonderful than swimming in a salt water pool fed by the ocean in a glorious setting? One of the many beautiful scenes we've encountered as we make our way down the coast to Melbourne. Trains, buses, taxis, ferries, we've now done them all .... Plus walking of course. Spent the day in Manly (famous for their beautiful beaches) a short ferry ride from Sydney Harbour. The beaches were full of people in spite of weather that wasn't ideal. Cloudy with temp. of only 25C (perfect for us). Apparently, most people like 30c plus temps. It was a very relaxing day until a thunderstorm hit at which point we made a beeline for the ferry.

We've been here in Sydney for 3 days and it feels like a week .... Love, love, love this city. Spent today on the water, they were forecasting 45C but the actual temp. reached just 36C ... Not that hot really since there was a nice breeze. Seeing Sydney and surrounds from the water was great but the best part of today was the Opera. To see an Opera is an experience but to see La Boheme at the Sydney Opera House is a bucket ticker. Marvellous!

Today was a walk 'till you drop day. We started off by taking the bus from our hotel to the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge (which you can climb for a birds eye view of all of Sydney for only $200). We decided to take a tour of the Opera House instead and that was worth every penny. This marvel designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon impressed Grant so much that he bought us tickets to see an opera tomorrow night. A first for both of us. The building...

Ok, so what happened to Wednesday? We've arrived in Sydney and its Thursday ... Quite a long trip ... 16+ hours .. Left on Tuesday, arrived on Thursday.
