Andre and The Prawn's Adventure
We got to Buenos Aires after another lengthy bus journey, Casson was on his way into tourist information to see if we could work out how to use the public transport so I thought I'd sit down and wait, unfortunately, I didn't think to take my big backpack off first so as I went to sit down it pulled me over backwards and I ended up like a tortoise on my back, much to Casson's amusement.
We'd booked 4 nights in BA but in hindsight that was too long, we really don't like cities so we don't know why we keep going to them. There were a few things we did that we really enjoyed, we went to La Boca which is a really touristy district but it's full of colourful buildings, tango dancers in the street etc so it was a really nice place to spend the morning. Whilst in La Boca we went to Boca Juniors for the stadium tour, Casson really wanted to watch a match there but it's really difficult to get tickets and if you do manage it it's about US$150. We also went to Recoletta Cemetery to see Evita's grave and the place was pretty impressive. Argentina is really expensive so from now on we're cooking our meals ourselves and we'll probably have to embrace dorms (begrudgingly). Even the chocolate out here is mega expensive, Casson has this thing that if he can't get a big bar for a £1 he won't buy it, this is self imposed as i'd never cme between him and his chocolate, lets see how long it lasts ......
General Points
1) The public transport system in BA is really hard to understand, we lost track of the amount of times we got off the bus in the wrong place or basically had no idea if we were going in the right direction
2) On the bus here the police got on and escorted 2 people off the bus to search them, you've got to love a bit of bus drama.....
