We arrived in Colombo yesterday evening after a week of reorganising and frustration. The problems were precipitated by the Tamil Tigers and the fallout from their recent activities. We are still in New Delhi, but tonight we fly to Columbo in Sri Lanka. Cathay Pacific were supposed to take us to Sri Lanka but they have cancelled all flights there until October. Well, we couldn't wait that long so we've had to go by Sri Lankan Airways. Also Columbo airport is closed at night, so we are landing just after sunrise. We're back in Delhi at the end of our organised tour of Northern India. Richard is busy on the computer at the hotel whilst everyone is out haggling in a market or shop in the city. We have been in Varanasi since 24th April. It is a very sacred city for Hindus who would all love to visit here at least once in their life, to bathe in the River Ganges. Sarnath is also nearby, and is one of the most important cites for Buddhists.

Friday the 13th in HK. After a night without sleep, we had time to explore HK before our connection to New Delhi. So we caught a bus to HK Island.
