It's been a very relaxing few days in Wallan with Chris and family. I'd almost forgotten that whilst living in my bubble that is the travelling world that other people are still going to work and school! Whilst the kids were out in the day I stayed home with Casey (mainly catching up on sleep!), helping with Spike whenever I could. On friday we went to Alani's school dance production which although a teensy bit cringey at first turned out to be an enjoyable evening , even when I got roped in to joining in the dancing! I think Casey did a much better job than I did....
On Saturday 25th I had a relaxing afternoon with Chris in Melbourne, meeting a few of his ice hockey crew before going to watch Melbourne Ice v Canberra. Definitely becoming an ice hockey fan and loved the match! Helped a lot by the 9:1 win to Melbourne.... Further drinks afterwards as well as catching a glimpse of the entire team with their own private table - from the look of some of the men I think I quite easily become a fan of this sport ;) We went from the game to meet Casey and friends in a bar in the city ready for a night out! It was nice to see Chris and Casey able to enjoy a night off from the children and be able to relax a little. One too many shots I think and lots of 'interesting' props from Casey's friend led to a slightly slow morning Sunday, but a fun night had by all I hope! (If you don't count almost losing my purse and passport... Thank you security men of Melbourne for saving my bum)
I was very reluctant to leave theirs this morning. I have become very relaxed in Australia so flying to a brand new country where I know nobody and have no contacts is feeling a little daunting. On the plus side, at least everyone speaks english over there! Saying a second goodbye to the family wasn't so easy but fingers crossed it won't be long before I'm back. Next stop, New Zealand :) Amy x
