Arrived in Rotorua today, a town known for it's strong sulphur smell (similar to iceland for those that have been), giving it nicknames such as 'Rotten-rua'. It's home to a lot of geothermal activity so as soon as you pull in you come across a lot of hot springs and geysers. A lot of people booked on to see hobbiton this afternoon (the LOTR set) so I decided to go with a few others from the bus to the luging site - driving your own gravity powered cart and racing each other. To get to the site you have to go up the skyline so you get an awesome view of Rotorua from above as well as the fun of the tracks! A bit of a laugh with Sarah (croissant lady) from the bus especially as we were the slowpoke grannies at the back! Also did my good deed of the day by helping out a little boy who got stuck... Good samaritan award ;)
Spent the evening with Nick Guy and Arran (auckland boys) including a very long trip to Pak n Save getting alcohol for the ninnies who forgot their passports and couldn't get served... Before having a night out tonight at Lava Bar with the other kiwi bus people. Up early tomorrow morning for a bus trip back to Auckland! Amy x
