Spent most of Thursday (6th) travelling back up to Auckland with nakedbus and after a cheapy dominoes in the evening with Natalie we headed to bed early aiming for an early night. It didnt quite go to plan as the other girls had gone out on the Thursday frenzi bar crawl and needed a little bit of looking after when they came in but it was quite entertaining I suppose!
On friday Natalie and I got the ferry over to Waiheke island and had a very peaceful tour with our german tour guide. The weather was a bit rubbish in auckland but somehow getting the ferry across took us in to another weatherzone and it was gorgeous! We got driven around on our slightly sketchy tour bus up to Kennedy point and Matiatia bay, both giving stunning views of the islands scenery :) and got to meet the alpacas! (Double ended one had to be a favourite...) Towards the end we stopped off at a pub by the beach for a coke and some very pretty looking pictures of the seafront. The ferry ride takes you away from Auckland CBD so from deck you can get some amazing views of the skyline - just wish I was able to see it at night as I'm sure it woud be stunning.
Once back to mainland we had a shop around down Queen Street for some all blacks merchandise and then another Dominoes that night.... For $4.99 you can't go wrong!! Decided that a pizza is carbs + dairy + tomato + protein + veg so technically kinda healthy.... ish?!?
Saturday was game day so after finishing up our 'Once you go ALL BLACKS you never go back' poster we heading down to the fat camel to get kitted up with facepaint and a few post game drinks! The train journey to eden park was packed and it took us quite a while to find our way.... But eventually we made it and took our seats in row B - right on courtside! Can't complain when the tickets were only $60..... Brilliant atmosphere at the game made even better by a 23-13 win to the All Blacks. Though think I would have been satisfied just seeing them all do their rather manly haka!
Auckland town centre was buzzing that night and was full of people but since we'd been drinking from about 1pm I was struggling to keep up! But still had a good night out and ended up with Tom and Ryan plus friends (guys I met at Spot X), somehow lost everyone else!
Today we trundled back to the very very very wet Rotorua and I just had a chilled night in watching old school harry potter. Very appreciative of Nick's bacon sarnie making! He's off back to england soon so the last night seeing him, and then up early to taupo on my new kiwi ex bus. Hopefully they'll be a good bunch :) Amy x
