Friday 8 January I'm awake early and the power is on so I get up and start cooking the dal and the banana cake. It takes a good few hours and I end up needing the generated for about 20min to finish with the cake. It feels like having run a marathon. We head to the day care to help mind the children and lunch. Thursday 7 January Morning comes too soon. Thankfully there isn't a rush today and we can ease into breakfast of toast and leftover guacamole. Wednesday 6 January We are up and about a bit later this morning. The plan is to go to Arusha today and arrange for some more furniture, arrange driving school for a worker and buy some extra supplies. Everything takes longer than planned. Our first stop is quite successful and negates another stop. We get stopped by police and as the front passenger wasn't wearing his seatbelt we get fined. There are no seat belts in the back, but that doesn't seem to matter. ...

Tuesday 5 January I don't sleep as long as I wish. We get up and have breakfast. There is a delicious array of fruits. There are ppl coming and going. Some for fabric and some hunting for jobs and some for more information on current jobs. We head to the nearby preschool. It's still early days and there are still kinks to work out. Monday 4 January We are up and packed before 7am. It's a short trip to the airport. We stand in line for check in. A lady approaches us to take some of her luggage. She has too much and they won't let her check it in! She seems legit and we are allowed to check in some luggage, but we decide to only bring carry on. We have to decline her. You never know.
