Saturday 13 June The forecast is terrible so we walk after breakfast to the staircase. Apparently it's over 300 stairs. On the way up we meet some children wanting us to write our name and age and sponsor them for school. We give them a donation. When we return from the stairs we walk via a church and then back to the hostel. It's nice to spend a quiet day catching up on messages and research. Friday 12 June There must have been less than 10 ppl on our 10 hour bus ride! Seems almost a waste. But hey, we make it to san cristobal! We wait at the bus station a little while- it's barely 7 in the morning. Malcolm goes and buys some water. Some ppl approach us about hostels to stay in. Thursday 11th June We pack up our stuff and again join a tour group. 1st stop is the oldest tree in the world; over 2000 years old with a daughter tree over 1000years old. It's pretty impressive. It's in fenced church grounds with manicured gardens and has a team of specialists to mind it. It was sick in recent years and went brown and branches were cut away and became green once more. Wednesday 10th June We rise and shine! Breakfast has a yummy range of fruit. We wait till we are collected for our tour at 9:30. Also doing the tour is a couple we saw on the turibus in Puebla. We get to talking and they are from Brasilia in Brazil. After driving around and waiting we collect another couple and the guide and head off toward our first stop the monte Alban ruins. Tuesday 9th June We plan to leave at 10:45 by bus so we get the hostel to arrange a taxi to the station. It costs more than the secure taxi to the hostel. We see if we can find a cheaper bus, but end up going with our original plan coz it's leaving at the right time.
