Mal gets up early and drives to a lookout, I try and stay warm. He returns with fresh bread. Once packed we drive around a few more sites in Banff and mal does a short hike - my knees are too painful for the stairs. then visit the info centre for wifi. We travel up towards jasper. Lake Louise is beautiful. Much smaller than imagined and very touristy. It's difficult to find parking. It's raining as we finish up lunch. The lakes are amazing aqua and mountains from sheer rock to tree covered. We stop at a camp ground and find a spot. We relax In the car till the showers stop then put the tent up. After dinner we walk along the silty river and enjoy the warm sun.
