Hey Guys!
We have finally begun our travels again! On the 24th November we left Melbourne (was sad times but very exciting at the same time!) and flew to Alice Springs. We then had a day to have a look round Alice before beginning our 3 day 2 night trip. The next day we had to leave for our trip at 6 am as it takes about 5hours to drive to Uluru (ayers rock). We then had a spot of lunch and did a walk around The Olgas in the afternoon (about 7 km, including climbing). There were some beautiful views. We then watched the sunset over Uluru before heading back to camp where we camped out in "swags" (a sleeping back with thin matress attached). It was an interesting experience, and the swags were very comfortable! The stars were amazing also. The next morning we were woken at 3.30am to go and watch sunrise over Uluru and do an 11km base walk around the rock. The afternoon was spent back on the bus travelling to Kings Canyon. This was by far the best location, and the best trek the next day (7km and the views were spectacular), it felt like a different world!!
We met some amazing people on the trip, our tour guides were brilliant fun! Itwas definately a highlight of our trip so far. We then left Alice on the 28th Nov and flew to Cairns...we will fill you in on that in another blog! For now we have to go - busy bees!!
Hope everyone is well?? Lots of Love Amy and Clare X x x
