The journey to the capital city was long from our lodge in the middle of the valleys and we only had one stop off in a town called Bulls. No idea what it was about but everything, all the shops pubs etc had the word Bull in because this town manufactured bulls that could produce milk too! Random but as i'm learning about new zealand it is pretty random and quiet! We actually drove on the busiest road in NZ to Wellington but it literally was still a quiet road and wigston definitley has more cars at 10pm then this road did but its a nice change! We arrived in Wellington a very windy city and went to our hostel and had a treat of EGG and beans on toast living the life of luxury for once! Then me Meg Lauren and Bron got ready to meet the others at base as we were staying seperate because it was cheaper! After a bit of pre drinks we met them and had the best night in the capital there was actually loads of bars and people around and we went to one bar called the Establishment where a really good live band were playing and it was a very funny night! Lost of group pictures were taken of our little family after 1 week and to top it off we had a chinese at 3am $8 for 3 items the best food we've had all trip and it was Amazing! Waking up not feel our best after a skype session we left to explore Wellington and founf the musuem which we were all a bit too hungry to enjoy but it was fun and the dinasours eyes moved which scared me so much! Then it was off to get a sandwich and go on the famous cable car up to the botanical gardens! We paid $6 for a return which was a waste as we walked down and the trip up was no more than 2 minutes bit of a dissapointment! But we made the most of it and watched the pigeons and ducks by the pond to kill some time! Then it was time to go out again and it was Petes last night so we went to a few bars and saw Jay Williams who is apparently a big singer over here no one had heard of him though! Another good night topped off again by chinese food yummy! The next morning after a few hours sleep we got on our new bus and boarded the Ferry to Picton on the South Island ... not a good 3 hour boat journey but it was worth it!
Lots of Love Amy and Megs xxxx
