Before we got to Queenstown we stopped at the original bungy site where it all started. We watched a few jump 50 metres into the kawarau gorge which was tense and some just couldn't do it. All those planning to bungy booked and Katie and I booked to go and spectate!!
We arrived in Queenstown and stopped near the huge majestic lake and had a group photo, we all hopped on the boys backs!!
Once we arrived at the hostel and checked in we were reunited and saw all our friends from different buses and decided that tonight would be a big night!! We had a walk about the town and of course the boys tucked into a famous Ferg burger they looked insane!
We grabbed alcohol and inevitably us girls headed out to get our Ferg fix as we were jealous!! It tasted amazing!! We came back got ready and had drinks together before heading out. It was a brilliant night drinking alcohol from teapots in a very cool bar with an awesome live band.Queenstown is looking promising!
The next day we were feeling fragile but had to get up and face the day as we had Ed's bungy! I felt tense but the guys that were jumping looked terrified. Ed was so quite and anxious for his jump! It was a drive to the jump and everyone had to be harnessed up and weighed before heading out to the zip wire!! It was incredible to watch, the adrenaline was crazy and I was buzzing just watching. Ed loved it and we were both chuffed at his brilliant dive.
As we were so buzzed Katie and I decided to do the largest swing in the world which is higher!! I don't know what I was thinking but signed up quick before I said no and headed out. I bumped into a friend I made in Australia about to do the same thing, I was petrified!!
I have never felt fear like it but I enjoyed it so much, my stomach flipped a million times and it's safe to say I won't be doing it again haha. We couldn't stop laughing after the drop the fear had gone and the adrenaline had kicked in.They were a little cruel teasing us and the crowd pushed the release button which isn't very fair but it added to the thrill!!
We had an early chilled night as we have booked a tour to visit the Milford sound tomorrow. When we got into bed I couldn't sleep at first as I kept thinking I was falling!!
We got up at the crack of dawn and got ready to head to Milford sound! The journey was 5 hours long and very beautiful. We stopped at a natural spring to fill up our water bottles, it was freezing and so fresh!! Once we finally arrived we hopped on a boat and cruised through the fjords! It was a stunning scenic ride with huge waterfalls, seals and dolphins! After our 2 hour cruise we hopped back on the bus home and watched a film to pass the time!! It was beautiful to see but the day was too filled with travelling!!
That night we participated in the kiwi bar crawl which took us to 5 bars and we enjoyed free drinks in each, pizza and free photos!! I spent so much money but we had a brilliant night out! We visited a ice bar which was cool and had to wear coats and gloves and the drinks were served in ice cups, it was a very fun experience!!
Everyone was very tired the next day and we managed to surface at lunch time for a stroll around the lake and enjoyed our last yummy Ferg burger!!
After lunch we headed up the steep hill which most got the gondola but as some are trying to save we took the 2 hour steep walk! It was tough but the 360 views on top of Queenstown made it worthwhile!! At the top a few luged which looked fun. It's like go karting races!!
The walk helped cure us and we got back and again watched all the lads play a football match. We had a lovely last evening together relaxing, eating and playing card games.
The next day was a very sad goodbye we were so sad to say farewell! We had all got so close and it was going to be strange in a smaller group. Queenstown was amazing and it's a shame we didn't get to stay longer! We still had 6 of us heading back up North so well be okay.
