Landing on Koh Samui we were tired and fairly motion sick after a rough crossing on the ferry. Our hostel was nice, but very small, and after a night exploring the area, getting henna tattoos and taking advantage of cheap clothes at the night markets, we were ready for some rest and relaxation. Next day we headed to Chaweng beach, where luckily, our friends were staying. After a day of what felt like complete luxury (from cramped hostel to hotel) we headed out for dinner, a fire show, a beach party and a glimpse of some nightlife. Next day we headed back to our hostel ready for our trip to the island everyone was flocking to; Koh a Pangan. The port heading to full moon island was packed, I was genuinely fearing the ferry was going to capsize due to rough waters and exceeded capacity but we made it in one piece. Being shown to our "hotel room" which was actually a store cupboard with mattress' on the floor we tried to keep our spirits high. The jungle party and full moon party did just that. There are no words to describe the craziness of those few days. Skipping ropes on fire, limbo poles on fire, mushroom mountain and 20,000 party goers can only begin to paint the picture....
Departing the island is was time for Koh Tao, a detox and sleep. We did a little exploring on the island however we mainly ate, slept and made the most of the amazing luxury 5* hotel. The 5 stars were an absolute necessity after the previous few days of slumming it.
