After visiting the Tiger Kingdom on our last day in Chaing Mai we had another long journey ahead of us.
After 29 hours of busses, trains and taxis, and hardly any sleep, we arrived in Patong, Phuket. We took some time out to sleep, sunbathe, party, eat good food and relax. Feeling homesick for 'normal' food we even visited hooters for dinner; blowing our weekly budget on one meal, but it was worth every penny. It was delicious.
After a few days of recuperation it was time to start island hopping. First stop; Koh Phi Phi.
Arriving at our hotel located halfway up a mountain, the views were incredible and made the climb seem a little less painful.
Rising early the following day, we crossed the island and boarded a boat. We made numerous stops at different islands for snorkelling, sunbathing, and also made a few cheeky little friends on monkey island.
Watching the sunset with a perfect view from the boat topped off an amazing day just nicely.
After taking full advantage of the hot shower at the hotel (they are few and far between when staying in hostels) we headed out for an evening of live music, fire shows and a party on the beach.
We spent the next few days in phi phi exploring the island's amazing beaches and beauty spots before hopping to the next island on our list; Koh Samui.
