I cant belive how fast time is going,we are over half way through our travels now!!
We have had an amazing last few weeks, after we got back to sydney we flew to perth to stay with my aunt's family.
We had had a week of rain in sydney and the day we were leving for perth the sun came out and they had a really hot day, we landed in perth in a lovely rain cloud.. we met the carmans at the airport and waited for our bags mine came out and then we waited some more for georges and then we waited somemore... the bag never came.
So we went up to the desk the bag had been left behind in sydney, apparently this happens all the time but i think that it was just our luck.
Anyways after a dodgey start things started to look better and we took a trip down to the beautiful Margret river region to see the beautiful coastline and the magical caves.
We walked through forests of giant kari trees and i even climbed one that was 60m high and used to be used as a look out post.
When we got back to perth aunty tara sent us on a trip to Rottnest island, it was the most beautiful place i have ever seen, the day was so hot and we almost died of heat cycling around the island.
We also went on a trip to seal and penguin islands with aunty tara and uncle herb. the islands were covered in seagulls that had a huge problem with george and tried to peck his head off every time that he went near them.
We were sad to leave perth and all the mud cake that aunty tara would buy for us every day!
Anyways we landed in singapore and the heat hit us, it was so humid but at the same time a welcome change from the bad weather we had had in Oz.
We had a brill time in singapore, eating lots of yummy food in the hawker centres, drinking singapore slings at raffles hotel and visiting lots of temple but by far the highlight was taking a ride on the trishaws with a 61 year old malaysian driving it, we felt so bad he was half my size and had one peg tooth, we thought he was going to keel over with the strain of cycling our massive bums around the city! We metup wih my cousins wife gayatri and spent some time at their place which was on an amazing complex with beautiful pools.
2 days ago we caught a bus into malaysia and are now in Melaka, it is a funny city with a mix of chinese, dutch and english influences and lots of nice old stuff to look at!
Tomorro we are off to Kuala Lumpur.
missing you all!!!
