what a cool day i have had!! got up at 530am this morning to go to the most easterly point in australia and watch the sunrise!!!it was lovely although the clouds came in and there wasnt much colour but the start was amazing!!!!! saw a balck mountian goat too!!!! then went to a 24hr bakery and got breakfast!!! i ahve to say byron bay is soo expensive!! got being a hippoe town its pricey!!! $6 for a cheese scone! you get them for like 50c in the supermarkets!! anyway after that booked to go sea kayaking in the afternoon! the clouds cleared and it turned into a gorgeous day!! kayaks where very heavy but the walk to the beach was quick! got some good photos too! and video clips!! my shoulders and wrists are really sore after all the paddling but it was worth it! we wentout to a reef but becasie all the recent storms here the sea wasnt too clear so we couldnt seathe reef but there were turtles poppiong up to breath everyso often! we then headed further out to sea and round the bay in search of dolphins!!! I swear i though we werent going to see them cause we had been out for a while and hadnt seen them and apparently in the morning htye had seen about 30 so i thought we cant be that lucky!! well further out and around the bay was much rougher sea so we were navigating waves and trying to sea dolphins which is hard when you areso low! this guy was surfing further out and as we were watching him all of the sudden these dolphins started to surf wiht himj and jump out and through thewaves!! it was amazing!!! we were with them for ages and they were coming right up to the kayaks and blowing and tsuff!! these are wild dolphins!!! IT WAS SOOO COOL!!!!! better than my last dolphin experience!! thety had young and stuff with them too! We were in a small group of about 10 with two to a kayak to it was even better!!1 i cant explain how amazingit was to see them right nextto us and surfing the waves and playing around! the guide toldus info about them too which was good! apparently they were horny dolphins casue of what they were doing! dolphins are the only species other than ourselves (mammals anyway) that can commit suicide!!! on a lighter note after all our froliking with the dolpins we headedback to shore and did kayak surfing!! was great fun!!! weran over another kayak at one point though!!! got good ophotos and stuff and videos of the surfing!!!! it was addictive!!! that night we had a huge BBq at the buda bar near my hostel and then had a free live ahow all night! drank alot ofwine!! first there was the one man band playing a multitude of instruments like guitar, drum, didge ect... all at once then there was a very disturbing performance by a 10 year old wearing pratically nothing and stripping to one point in a bikini dancing to music in a way that would put christina aguelleria to shame!!!! alot of people were very uncomfortable about it! man it was in an outdoor section of a (very cool) bar!!! she spun lots of hula hoops rounf her body too! she was a good we dancer but it wasnt appropriate!!! then there was a fire twriling show and a guy putting two nails through his nose (saw this in sydney too) and lying on nial beds ect... and card tricks and stuff. hey were good but not too professional yet! think they were just starting out good though!! had a great night and day really!!!!! ended up going out in town here and went to cheeky monkeys which was crap!!! its a backpackers bar and it was just too much!! worse than the garage!! it was full of rowdy english too!!! left there and went to another club that had 10 folk in it ha ha!!! then got food and headed back to hostel!!! was a good night all the same! i cant explain how cool the hostel i am staying in is!! its big but really sociable and personal!!! has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, volly ballarea (although lots of other stuff happens there too) acool cinema with beeds etc.. and its not to expensive for what you are getting!!!! i really like it!!!!!!! bugs are scary though!!!!!!
