What an interesting trip it ws getting here!!! we left singapore and headed to catch a bus that would take us to a bus station where we could get another bus accross the boarder. The heat with the backpacks on was torture!!! even though it was night it was still about 29degrees!!!! The bus we had to get came along but the guy didnt understand us. we eventually got him to relaise where we where going...they dont day johor bahru just JB!! anyway got to queen street station and jumped straight on a bus with backpacks to Johor bahru. Was a tight squeeze so we just didnt take off backpacks and just sat perched on the back seat. Got to boarder and had to jhump off for singpaore immigration then back on bus then off bus again for malaysian immigration, it took us so long to get through that our bus had gone on so we had to wait for nex one. taxi drivers were telling us we were hours from bus station and we should go with them but we spoke to the guy controlling the bbuses coming through and he told us to have a seat and then he got us when bus arrived. he ws really nice! got to bus station and immediately hounded by folk wanting us to go on their buses! we got one guy who said bus left at mudnight and got to KL at 6am! we though great very cheap too just 25RM!! the bus had reclinging chair and we slept great only to be woken about 330am telling us we were there!!!! CONFUSED TIRED AND EARLY WE ENDED UP GETTING IN A TAXI FOR 20RM AND HE TOOK IS A LONG ROUTE TO OUR HOSTEL THAT WAS ONLY 200YARDS AWAY!!! LESSON LEARNED ALWAYS CHECK THE GUIDE BOOK! IT WAS VERY EARLY!! Hostel is nice and people are really friendly. janine and i ahd a dounble for first night as we arrived so late and have now moved into a dorm. lynsey and david still in double. on the first day janine and i went to the Batu caves on the outskirts. we had to walk up a mammoth amount of steps that were very steep and had monkeys jumping about them! the Batu caves are a gaint hindu temple where all that peircing of f;esh festival happens!!! it was cool! alot of mosquitos and i got bit for the first time!!!! eek!!! doesnt hust they are itchy but its annoying never bitten in life till i was there! we also had a wander round some other cfaves where there was an art gallery about hinduism and stuff. as we were leaving a huge stprm started over KL it was really cool to see all the lightening forks and them going inbetween the petronas towers and stuff!!!! the rain was pouring and roads flooded when we got back and we took a wander round the Cjina town markets and got mocket!! althought they are covered you still get wet bits and it was so dirty!! big thunder and lightnening storm. that night we went out for dinner and chilled at hostel. Yesterday we were up very early and we all went to the petronas towers. the first 1000 get up for free, cant get up any other time. it was really cool and high and it was good to see the whole city!!!!! great views. janine and i then wander arounf a massive shopping centre all morning and got lynsey her birthday present (its today). walked though thr gardens at the towers then follwed the KL tower back till we found our hostel. alot of walking but we found all the classy pubs and clubs which we are going to tonight! went around china town again....different experience in the dry and then we went out to dinner at a buffet place and invited a girl we are sharing with called stacey. think poor david is starting to get sick of female company,,,he is getting a little quiet!!! Stacy has spent the last 8 months travelling around africa and india! was great hearing about her stories. she is only 21!!!!! given me ideas anyway! today we got up really late and then janine and i went to the lake gardens and the national museum. they were nice but nothing overly special. We did sit on a gaint swing in amoungst this tiny garden for ages looking at where we are heading over the next few weeks. was romantic...shame she isnt a guy! ha ha! we have booked to go to taman negaro tommorrow and have hired a guide so we dont get lost in the jungle!! going out tonight and have an early early start tommorrow!! ekk! but we will manage we always do!!!!
