We arrived back in Perth after our morning with the Dolphins and headed to Nat (Sophie's sister in law) and Greg's. Was great to see them again and also Belinda and Josh. We soon got chatting out on the veranda and forgot the time so were just leaving as Dad phoned to say he had his baggage and was waiting for us outside the airport! He soon texted back to say he would wait inside with the air conditioning! So we eventually got him collected and settled back on the veranda, now accompanied by some Golds! It was lovely to have our 1st home cooked meal in a fair few months and being very well looked after continued for the entire time we were there.
The following day we took to the beach, within walking distance of the house, and did some boogie boarding with Josh while Dad looked on as we got ripped down the beach! Josh asked if we could pop into a surf shop on the way home looking for stickers for his skateboard. Dad tired a little after the 4th but Alex and I were enjoying looking if not buying! To revive him we went wine tasting in the Swan Valley in the afternoon with the added bonus (like we needed one) of a chocolate factory too where there was free chocolate! Dad bought a case of wine as a thank you for Nat and Greg but I fear there was little left by the time we left!
We went to the XXXX Gold Beach cricket on the Saturday with Greg and Josh. A 3 way tournament between Australia, New Zealand and England that tours Australia. We watched England unfortunately get beaten by New Zealand but they then spanked the Aussies which rounded the day off nicely. The final that was played on Sunday was a rerun of the first game with England taking on New Zealand. England being victorious on the final ball of the game.
On Sunday Greg kindly dropped us in Fremantle and we did some sight seeing before catching a ferry up the Swan River back to Perth. Some really beautiful properties up the river which was full of dinghy sailors and other people enjoying the water. A great view of Perth from the water which we managed to better after a climb up Jacob's Ladder to view Perth from the top of Kings Park. We took a walk along a glass bridge lookout before calling Cowards Taxis! Dutifully Greg and Josh turned up and took us home for a well earned Gold! In hindsight (see photos) we may have started a little early and pollished off all the Gold left in the house, 6 bottles of wine and 2 bottles of Port! Alex apparently hates port!
Was a bit of a struggle getting packed up ready to head off in our camper the next morning but all credit to Greg who was up at the crack of dawn heading off to work!
