After the awesome result in the rugby we spent the night in the airport and caught a flight to Hanoi in Vietnam. Lots and lots of mopeds and other traffic with seemingly no rules is the first thing we noticed! Red lights seem not to be compulsary and zebra crossings a waste of paint! Crossing the road is actually simpler than it first looks - you basically just walk across the road and rely on the mopeds to steer round you!!
After trying about 10 cash machines we were accosted by a cyclo driver. We explained the fact we had no money and he assured us he would find us a cash machine if we took a town tour. With literally nothing to lose we took him up on the offer and he was true to his word - the 1st one he took us to worked! So we took a tour of the city including a couple of Pagodas (Vietnamese equivalent to Thai Temples), B52 bomber remains in a lake, Ho Chi Minh Museum and Mausoleum(although his body is currently in Russia for its annual maintenance?!. We are off to Ha Long Bay for 3 dyas and then trekking in Sapa including a 'home stay' for 1 night so will let you know how that goes!
