Our final day in Saigon was hot and humid - just like every other day. We were doing the city tour visiting the Presidential Palace and the Remnants of War Museum. The Palace was recognisable as the place where the North Vietnamese tank was driven through the gates of the Palace indicating the Fall of Saigon. Today we travelled for an hour and a half south of Saigon to the Mekong Delta. First we sampled different local fruits like dragonfruit, banana and jackfruit while listening to a local group singing traditional Vietnamese folk songs. We arrived in Ho Chi Minh City (HCM) on Wednesday afternoon where we met our new tour guide for the remainder of our tour. John is at Vietnamese man who lives in Saigon which is what the locals refer to as HCM. He speaks English very well and is very charismatic.
