We arrived in Wurzburg where we had a choice of vising the residential palace or a tour of Rothenburg - a medieval city. We chose the latter.
Rothenburg is a city completely surrounded by a city wall and it feels like going back in time. Very touristy with one of the main attractions being Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas Store - they like their Christmas decorations in Germany (we didn't go there). We looked through the Torture Museum which reminded me of a scene out of the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Sure enough, I googled the filming locations of this movie and Rothenburg was one of them - the village where they had no children.
We were also able to walk around the city wall. Some very steep stairs to climb up there but gave a great view of the city.
Another must is to try a local speciality - the Snowball - a pastry a little smaller than a tennis ball with flavoured icing or cinnamon sugar. The guide warned us they were not very nice but Brad had to try one - the guide was right, very dry.
Back at the boat we sailed from Wurzburg to Kitzingen were we had a medieval dinner followed by a walk to Germany's Oldest Wine Cellar for a wine tasting. The owner of the cellar had a very abrupt way of speaking which made me laugh but the hostess was a buxom blonde girl with a fairly American accent.
Overall another enjoyable day.
