Arrived in Hoi An in the late afternoon, was really organised as we booked a hotel across fae the Sinh Tourist office where we should be getting dropped off at, unlucky for us we got dropped off at the bus station instead! Luckily there were a few tourist maps about and people are very helpful so although we took the long way we got there without too much hassle! Got settled into the hotel, it was nice as we had lots of space and a double bed each! Headed out to a local restaurant for dinner then went back to the hotel and watched a film before an early night.
Sun 12/8
Had a relaxing morning, got a tour booked for tomorrow and our bus booked for leaving tomorrow evening. Had planned an extra day but the accommodation is a bit pricier than we are used to!lol. Met Cat and Ali for lunch and we all rented bikes afterwards and cycled out to the beach for a swim, not that the water was very cool. Went out together for a nice Indian meal in the evening, been avoiding it after getting a bit fed up with it whilst we were in India but that has passed now! The meal was bloody good!

Alarm was going off far to early this morning.....our sunrise tour of the My Son ruins started at 5am :/ Luckily they provided breakfast otherwise it wud have been a long morning. Unfortunately it was a cloudy morning so didn't get to see a nice sunrise but the ruins more than made up for it. We thought we had booked to get the boat back along the river and made it clear to the guide that there was obviously a mistake on the receipt only to realise when we got back that the leaflet didn't actually state it and we were obviously wrong!lol. On the plus side we never got charged extra for it so we were happy! :) It was only 11am when we got back to the hotel so had an hour to shower and pack before we checked out. Rented bikes again and spent the day exploring, not a very big place but very beautiful! On the one island we just kept going until we came to a dead end and there was a lady selling cold drinks at her house so we decided to stop and she was very clever, we tried to ask how much they were 2 or 3 times but she had the drink opened before she told us they were 20,000 each (way over priced) We decided to share the one as it was open but refused to buy another! Then she begged us to buy another and came with a sob story about how she was pregnant and had lost her husband, she didn't have us fooled, she looked fat rather than pregnant! They do try their best to make you feel bad tho! The highlight of Cams day was a bit later on when we were having another drinks stop at the side of a road, this time we had one each as they were more reasonably priced!lol. It started with me noticing a crowd of people gathering along the road from where we were, the small stall was blocking what was going on to begin with but we soon realised that two local girls were having a b**** fight! No idea why obviously but they were fairly gan at each other! They even started on each other with their bike helmets! Must have been a fair crack coz it broke the visor! Cams day didn't come to the best end tho as after an early dinner he came out to find his bike had a flat tyre! He had to walk all the way back to the hotel with the bike, at least it amused some of the locals! This evening our careful planning whilst booking out the hotel finally paid off as we could sit in the comfort of our hotel reception using their wifi rather than standing about the bus office as it was just across the road! Another night spent on a sleeper bus, luckily we had bottom bunks this time so Cam didnt feel like we was sliding off the whole time!
