Sat 14/7 Early start today to get a bus to the Dragon Backbone Rice Terraces. Headed to a less touristy area called Dazhai (think its too small to show on our destination list, Ping'an is the more touristy area of the rice terraces nearby!) After the 3 hour bus ride we were surrounded by local people, wanting us to go for lunch and hire guides etc. tried to shoo them away but they were very persistent. Thu 12/7 So 7:30am and the bus driver has stopped and shouting something in Chinese down the bus! Turns out we are in Guilin, 5hrs earlier than we were expecting. So after only a few hours sleep, still half asleep in fact, we are left standing at the bus station with no english signs to be seen! Mon 9/7 Left Randy's this morning to head back into China. First over land border crossing on our own so a little bit nerve racking! Lol. Sad to leave Randy's and Hong Kong but we have to move on! Tue 3/7 First day sightseeing in Hong Kong and loved it! Got the tram up to Victoria Peak on Hong Kong island where we got some awesome views looking down towards Kowloon! Has to be the most beautiful city we have seen so far! Lots of sea and trees along with the skyscrapers!
