Fri 6/7
Another day starting with rain! Ocean Park out the window again. Had a lazy morning researching things we want to see and do next. Went in search of a restaurant which was meant to be nearby but we ended up in a residential area even tho our gps said we were in the exact location, ended up having pizza hut instead, did not cut it after expecting a nice meal! Left to meet our new couchsurfing host in the afternoon! Turns out that Randy's place was much better situated than we were expecting! Half way up the midlevels escalators in the middle of soho! His apartment was really nice, and huge for a place in Hong Kong. Another couchsurfer Ken was also staying so we all went out for noodles for tea. Great to have a host that can take you to local restaurants! Not only is it good local food but its also dirt cheap! :)
Sat 7/7
Randy took us to Lantau Island along with Ken and another couple he was hosting after us! We got to the cable cars and the line was huge! We opted for the package deal which included two shows and it got us straight to the front of the cue at the ticketing office, bonus!! Although as always there is another hidden cue around the corner!lol. The shows were pretty s*** but it was worth it to save on time! The buddha was good but I preferred Tai O the old fishing village! (not sure if Cam would agree!lol.) It was beautiful! Little bit smelly at times around the market but no where near as bad as Zanzibar! When we got back to Hong Kong Island we were too late to make it in time for the light show but we got the general idea fae a bridge outside the shopping centre!
Sun 8/7
Ocean Park just wasn't meant to be! Had planned to go today but wasn't just feeling very s*** hot! Starting with a cold or something so stocked up on lemsip, strepsils and panadol (anything to get rid of it!) and spent the day relaxing at Randy's place! Hopefully wont last too long and spoil more days! Went out for lunch (to buy stuff at the supermarket was more expensive! Crazy!) and then cooked mince n tatties and shortbread with strawberries n cream for dinner to thank Randy for letting us stay! The shopping cost us £30! And people complain about tesco prices!! Its nothing compared to here!!
It was so good to have a home cooked meal for a change! Didn't taste quite as good as home but thats to be expected!lol.
