Today we made our last journey on the truck, into our final country in Africa - Kenya! Our guide Mwangi told us we were heading to the best country in the world so we all assumed we were heading to Scotland. On the way to the border we got some great views of Mt Kilimanjaro but unfortunately our photos didnt come out so good coz the sun was in the way! :( We arrived at Acacia Camp in the late afternoon. After dinner the heavens opened and there was some spectacular thunder and lightening. We thought our tents would be flooded but thankfully they were ok! The rain lasted most of the night.

It was a great feeling taking our tents down for the last time and moving into the dorm with a real bed. After breakfast we said goodbye to the crew and as the whole group were still staying at the camp we spent our final day visiting the Elephant Orphanage in the morning, where we got to watch them being fed and playing. There was also a Rhino but it was too old to be allowed out of its enclosure. In the afternoon we went to the Giraffe Sanctuary where we got to feed and pet the giraffes. It was so cool. We all went to the Carnivore restaurant for our final meal together. It was amazing!! It was a set menu, soup with bread and corn-on-the-cob for starter, then they set dips and salad on the table and the waiters came round with skewers of meat and carved it onto our plates. There was all sorts of chicken, lamb, beef and pork along with crocodile, ostrich and ox balls (literally!!) Tried it all but think we would pass on the ox balls next time!lol. It was all you could eat and once you were finished they followed with a choice of puddings and tea and coffee. By the end of it we had eaten so much just the smell of food made you feel sick!lol. It was a great experience!!

Got up and said our goodbyes to those who were continuing to see the gorillas. Headed up to the shopping centre for a few hours in the afternoon to make use of the free wifi. Spent the rest of the day sorting our bags for India whilst Cam had a long nap!! Stayed at the camp for dinner which turned out to be a good idea as the rains came again. Not quite as bad as the first night tho!
