Mon 25/6
After getting home at such a silly hour we didn't get up until 1pm. Didna have a lot of thrift either so spent most of the day at Fumies house. In the evening we got a train through to Osaka and went in search of our capsule hotel. Got to the right street and although our directions said walk for 1 minute, we walked the length and back again and didn't see it! Luckily a guy stopped to ask if we needed help and he was staying at the same place so showed us the way! We had been looking at the big signs for the hotel name but it was on the side of the wall! So obvious when you see it! Never mind got there in the end! The hotel was cool! It was rooms lined either side with capsules two high to sleep in. They were quite spacious (although designed for short people) They had radio, alarm clock, ac, mirror, power socket and a dimmer light so what more do you ask for! Only down side is that they have a 2am curfew and chuck you out between 10am-5pm for cleaning.

First full day in Osaka so we head for the Aquarium!! :) It was great! You take a big escalator to the top then you wind down around one huge main tank and get to see above and below the water. There were other tanks situated around the building too. Next we toke the Santa Maria boat ride around the harbour and then went on the largest ferris wheel in the world!! We got some great views from the top! Had dinner in a bar when we got back, love the fact the meals are small so you can order lots of things from the menu and try them all!
Wed 27/6
Up and out again at 10am the day again, we were both knackered so went in search of a park to relax in, there was no such thing in the area we were staying but we did eventually come across a rooftop garden again so we found some benches and spent the rest of the day there (even managed a sneaky nap) Another couchsurfing experience tonight, met the guy at 9pm. It was great because we got a room to sleep, toilet and shower but the rest of the place was being renovated by his dad. He stayed with his parents so we were left to our own devices. He stayed and chatted for a while and seemed a really nice guy. He had a map for us to write our names at where we came from which was such a good idea! Must keep it in mind if we host anyone when we get back! Only snag was there was no internet and we needed to book our bus! Looked into it before we arrived but didn't know the departure point so thought it better to ask for advice. Glad i did because the departure point was an hour out of Osaka so not very convenient!
Thu 28/6
So last minute doesn't always work! Because we couldn't get online last night by the time we tried to book our bus it was fully booked! Looks like another night in Osaka and head back to Kyoto for a bus tomorrow night! Never mind! Went to see the Osaka castle today, it was more like a castle from a fairy tale, all white, green and gold! Very pretty! Luckily when we got to the capsule hotel at 9pm they still had rooms available, although we did have to pay more for Cam because he was a man and it was a last minute booking! Next we headed to see the tsuten-kaku tower but we could do nothing but laugh when we got there because it wasn't even light up! Not got the best of luck here!lol. On the way home the restaurant we wanted to go to was shut and as we rounded the corner there was a British pub in front of us! Think it was a sign! We went in and had deep-fried scallops with balsamic sauce (nice but what a waste of good seafood by battering it!) followed by fish and chips and chicken and chips served in newspaper to share (just incase the fish wasn't fit to eat!lol) and the star of the night was the vinegar to go with it! Not seen vinegar since we left home! Oh how we miss it so much! Bloody good meal! Had a bit of a late night sitting up at the hostel planning our last few nights in Japan! Unfortunately Skyline museum is out because it was going to cost £300 just to get there and back! (not than am worried but Cam is disappointed!)
Fri 29/6 (Today)
So things go from bad to worse (ok maybe a bit dramatic!) We had planned to visit Ghibli museum today but no bus so not in Tokyo so cant go, try to book for tomorrow - fully booked, try the next day - fully booked! s***!! So since the two museums we planned to visit are a no go we are going with plan B - TOKYO DISNEY & TOKYO DISNEYSEA!! Might as well act like the couple of kids we are for the day!lol. :) Headed back to Kyoto on the train today to catch our bus. Had quite a bit of time to kill, found a restaurant that serves pasta in 3 different portion sizes but charges one price! Cam fell in love, needless to say he went for the LL (XL to us) It was a nice day (unlike last time we were here) so wandered the city, Cam mainly looking for cars, found a bench which gave me a chance to finally update the blog while he was engrossed in the traffic (so easily pleased), once Cam got bored we set up camp in McDonalds with a coke so we could hijack their power point to charge our phones - looks like McDonalds for dinner! We found our first look-a-like from home! And the lucky person is......drum roll.......Mike! We have nicknamed him the mike-a-lyk! :D Tried to get some snap shots but not so easy on a bus wae Cam and another dude in the way!lol.
