We arrived in Surfers Paradise and were taken to our hostl in style - in limo! It was a bit of an old scabby limo though!

The hostel was really nice and we had our own little apartment, it was like being back at uni and we made the most of the sofa's and tv! On our first night we went on a bar crawl that was organised by the hostel, there were about 50 people on it and it was good fun. The next day we had our second surfing lesson, which turned out to be a bit more traumatic than the first one! there was a really strong rip tide, and as soon as you were about 3 inches deep you kept getting dragged sideways. Aly'x board flew away, and Rach almost got dragged into a massive hole! I think the instructor - who looked like a pigeon - realised we were less than impressed, so he gave us a free tshirt. Got some really good photo's though.

Surfers Paradise was a really nice town and we spent quite a bit of time mooching around the shops, and the weather was good so we were quite lucky.
