Another short bus journey took us to Byron Bay, and the Arts Factory Hostel. As soon as we arrived we realised we were in a very hippy type of town, and the hostel was very much the same. We had a pretty normal dorm room, but there was the option of sleeping in a teepee, wagon or double decker bus! The hostel was great, had its own swamp, hamocks, hot tub, and swimming pool. We spent a lot of time there and didnt venture into town that much. On our first night we teamed up with some lads from our room for the quiz night in the hostels bar. needless to say we didnt win, but the night turned out to be great, as did the following two nights. We made it out into town on our last night, and as it was pretty cold we had to wear jumpers out. Rachel had to have stern words with a bloke who decided he liked her jumper, and took it not once, but twice! the second time he actually had the cheek to wear it, then tell her she shouldnt leave it lying round. She stood her ground and got it back, and retaliated by slealing his beer while saying 'maybe you shouldnt leave this lying around'! Go Rach! With not much sleep and plenty of alcohol the three days flew by in a bit of a blur, and unfortunately we then had to move on. We had the best three days in Byron and met some really great people, it was definitely one of the best places so far.
