Our days off were today and yesterday. They were actually quite nice.
Yesterday we went into town to pick up another volunteer and a new worker. I got a book at this cute little used book shop and read by the beach. Though slightly cold, it was nice. We welcomed the new people with a coffee and cake at a chocolateer in town then went to the bottle shop and market for supplies. That night all of us made personal pizzas, had wine, and played pool and card games. I tried not to be competitive, but, well, I can't change who I am.
Today we went to Flinders Chase National Park. It was a bit rainy, but we got some cute pictures and were able to see the "remarkable rocks" with powerful winds on the cliffs over the ocean. We also went to admirals arch where we saw seals/sea lions (I am actually not sure which is which). They move around like merdogs. It was so cute! Also a very pretty rainbow over the lighthouse was nice.
In the afternoon, we went on a quad biking tour. So much fun! It was muddy and I was hauling through all the puddles. We also saw wedge tailed eagles, marrons that are some kind of crawfish type animal, and lots of sheep. Still haven't found an echidna, but the bikes were such a rush! Back to work tomorrow!
