Ju and Aly: Came to Brisbane in search of jobs. Alas, no one wanted us. Until the finger of god led us to Cracow, ah fate! The only job we could get was in a "country pub" so in the spirit of adventure off we went. We arrived, after a lengthy journey into the deserted outback, in a gold mine ghost town. The only business open in town is the Hotel Cracow, our new home. We slept in the deserted bank next door with mice and spiders galore. After one day we were left to look after the place, while the owners were away, with "the Sargeant", ex army, wooden leg and curly moustache. We had a wicked time, although we never want to wash up or clean pub toilets ever again! Working in the bar was fun and we got to meet lots of wierd and wonderful people. The town has a mine with about 130 miners working there at one time, so many boys so little time! Big up to Stewie, Shortie, Scottie (Big and Little), Wolfie, Daniel, Wes and Freddie. Managed to break a few hearts between us, but we just weren't feeling the love for hill billys (as nice as they were). Having left a few hours we already have received texts and phonecalls but life must go on. We also got to go and see the drill rig where that drill core samples to find the quartz seams which the gold is in. We were disappointed not to see big gold nuggets but it was interesting none the less. We were sad but also glad to leave and now we are back in Brisbane. Em has left us to see her mum and Aunty Jane, so then there was two.
