Alyson, Emily, Julie & Katie's Adventures
From Byron Bay Emily, Alyson and Katie moved south to Coffs Harbour. (Julie was off with her parents having lots of exciting adventures) Coffs was quite nice, although a bit cold and windy down on the front near the beach. Whilst we were there there was a big horse racing event - The Coffs cup 2005. We decided to go not thinking too much about it and turned up to find we were very underdressed. It was like Ascot with posh frocks and large hats. We didn't really blend in too well in our jeans and trainers! Oh well we still enjoyed our day but didn't really get the hang of picking the winning horse! Inspired by the racing we decided to go on a horse ride ourselves. What a morning! We were taken out of the town to a beautiful countryside spot and allocated our horses. Em got the lame horse who didn't really do anything except walk very slow and hold up everyone else. Alyson got Pedro the naughty horse who didn't like the other horses and kept playing up and trying to bite them all! Katie was a pro as usual but got bored being held up by Alyson and Em's slow beginner horses. My goodness did we ache the next day!
From Coffs we travelled further south to Port Macquaire for a few days. It was gorgous there we spent the majority of our time there sat in the cafes and bars on the water front watching the world go by. We also stayed in a cool hostel here and got everyone playing our drinking games!
And on Sunday night we finally arrived in Sydney. We arrived in the dark and saw the bridge and the opera house all lit up and looking pretty. We had a crazy taxi driver who kept asking us if we had any ganja and telling us he saw faces coming out of trees when he listened to his special music. i don't think he looked at the road once. What a welcome. We are staying in Kings Cross (classy aren't we), its not too bad so far. We have wandered around the city and seen the sights and we all agree we like Sydney a lot. We spent a couple of evenings with Julie and her parents which was excellent, and now we have Julie back - yay. We are now in the process of thinking about looking for some work!! Needs must!
